IoT Philippines 2016

The 7th edition of the Asia IoT Business Platform was held on 23 - 24 May 2016 at Manila Marriott Hotel, Philippjnes. Chaired by Microsoft, the conference and exhibition is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO), and the US Commercial Services.

37 speakers from government officials, policy makers, solution providers and end users gathered to share on the current developments and use cases of IoT implementation. The 2-day conference was broken down into the following segments:

Monchito Ibrahim, Commissioner of DOST-ICTO gave the keynote address on Smart Digital Nation, followed by Carolynn Ann C. Reyes, Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, and Mike Frausing, Enterprise and IT Enabled Services Group Head of Globe Telecom.

A panel discussion on the Philippine Approach to SMART Cities was hosted by Smart Communications. Panellists included Metro Cebu Development and Coordinating Board (MCDCB), Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Intel and the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
