As smart city technologies emerge and mature, the concept of society 5.0, a “human-centered society that balances economic advancement with the resolution of social problems by a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space” has also become a near-future possibility. More importantly, smart city technologies do not only serve to address social issues and increase quality of life – but also as an enabler of economic growth and social well-being for the city, and ultimately, the country.
