The Ministry of Industry spurs the chemical-textile industry to transform into industry 4.0 (ANTARA News)
Muhammad Khayam, Director General of the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry, at the opening of the IKFT Sector INDI 4.0 Technical Guidance and Assessment which was carried out virtually, Tuesday (25/8/2020).
The Ministry of Industry in Indonesia strongly encourages local manufacturing companies to adopt industry 4.0 technologies. It is believed to provide great benefits, especially in the ability to adapt due to the COVID19 pandemic and new normal.
"This is part of the implementation of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, which will certainly bring benefits to the industrial sector, such as improving machine and equipment performance, production operation speed and product quality, and being compatible with health protocols," said the Muhammad Khayam, the Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry.
He said the assessment of the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) aims to measure the readiness of companies in implementing Industry 4.0 technologies, especially in the IKFT sector.
"We hope that through this, the Indonesian companies can take off and provide competitive advantages among the global markets," he said.
In the INDI 4.0, implementation of industry 4.0 technologies in the IKFT sector with its application systems will also be assessed. For example, the textile producer PT Eratex Djaja managed to save electricity, water, coal and greenhouse gas emissions after implementing industry 4.0 technology.
