State-owned lender PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has launched a quick response (QR) code payment service called My QR.
The service can be used by BRI customers and non-costumers, BRI customer director Handayani said over the weekend. Non-BRI customers can download the BRI mobile app and make a maximum deposit of Rp 2 million (US$138.5), while the deposit for BRI customers will be integrated with their bank account.
The service will be available at around 200,000 merchants across the country and the figure is expected to rise, Handayani added. My QR has been integrated with the National Payment Gate (GPN) network, according to BRI president director Suprajarto.
