Dassault Systèmes signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), the operating arm of Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) yesterday at “Digital Big Bang 2018”.
Senior officials from depa visited Dassault Systèmes in Singapore earlier this year in February at Asia IoT Business Platform Singapore and had the chance to meet with the team who is responsible for the Virtual Singapore, a project under Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative.
Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform will help in driving key projects under the nation’s Digital Thailand roadmap and cover two important areas: re-designing the education system and vocational training in Thailand to cultivate the country’s workforce of the future; and future Smart City developments in Thailand.
Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President & CEO of depa said, “depa is escalating projects to establish Thailand as a leading IoT hub in Asia, which includes turning seven cities into ‘smart cities’ by 2023. To achieve this, developing a digitally-capable workforce is imperative. We chose to work with Dassault Systèmes for its world-leading technologies that are at the forefront of Industry 4.0 and proven expertise.”
Dassault Systèmes was a Silver Sponsor at the 24th Asia IoT Business Platform on July 24 & 25 that was co-hosted by depa at the Intercontinental Bangkok where Dr. Nuttaporn was one of the keynote panelists.
