President Joko Widodo’s presidential inspected the Bukit Soeharto area in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan, which became one of the locations for the new Capital City candidate, Tuesday (05/07/2019).
The puzzle of the location of the transfer of a new capital city in Kalimantan finally revealed. Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Sofyan Djalil said the location of the new capital of Indonesia is in the Province of East Kalimantan (East Kalimantan). “Yes, East Kalimantan is right,” Sofyan said in the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday (8/22/2019).
But it locked tightly the location of the new capital city. He did not want to divulge the exact location before ensuring land availability. So, what are the advantages of East Kalimantan (East Kalimantan) to be chosen as the new capital? The following advantages:
1. The condition of the infrastructure is considered to be quite complete As reported by Kompas.com, Tuesday (05/07/2019), President Jokowi said that in East Kalimantan there is already infrastructure in the form of international airports, seaports and toll roads.
“It means that it will save a lot of money,” Jokowi said when reviewing the Bukit Soeharto area in Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Tuesday (05/07/2019). The President strongly supports the relocation of the Capital City in East Kalimantan because it is in the middle of the Samarinda-Balikpapan toll road.
In other cities, there is an airport in Balikpapan, then in Samarinda, there is also an airport so there is no need to make more.
2. East Kalimantan has adequate sports facilities In addition to the claimed infrastructure, East Kalimantan also has three international stadiums. Kompas.com (05/08/2019) has summarized several stadiums in East Kalimantan that are suitable for holding international matches.
These include Palaran Stadium, Samarinda. The stadium has been operating since 2008, precisely at the National Sports Week event in Samarinda. Then the Aji Imbut Stadium, Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara. The stadium which was inaugurated in 2011 has a capacity of 35,000 spectators. In addition, East Kalimantan also has the Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan, which has a capacity of 40,000 seats. The design of the stadium is said to have similarities with the Emirates Stadium in London.
